What Does The Bible Say About Addiction?

You are so very special to GOD! He made you in HIS image and for HIS pleasure to enjoy your fellowship. You’re HIS child! If you have children, you have an idea how important family is. What I’d like to do is tell you about some of the things GOD has to say about addiction. Just remember, with Jesus, there’s never guilt and shame… just forgiveness and a bright new future 💖

Here are just a few Bible verses to comfort you about addiction and being able to fully recover:

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Hebrews 2:18
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
.

Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

What’s the takeaway from these Scriptures?

  • You’re never alone
  • GOD is close to those in despair and feel hopeless
  • Never fear
  • Christ will strengthen you
  • GOD has a future for you
  • JESUS suffered and understands temptation, so HE will help you through it
  • There is absolutely no temptation that will prevent HIM from making a way of escape for you so that you can endure it

Allow these verses serve as powerful reminders of hope, strength, and the presence of JESUS in your life. Go to a quiet place and meditate on these Scriptures. They will help you find peace and motivation as you work your way through recovery to be fully recovered for life. Always remember that addiction is a spiritual condition of the soul, NOT some theoretical disease. When it’s over, it’s over!

I welcome your comments.

Have a blessed and beautiful rest of your day! Never doubt! 😊
