Resting in God’s Strength

Scripture: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
When we are in the throes of addiction, it can feel like our own willpower and determination are the only things keeping us going. We may try to white-knuckle our way through cravings and temptations, exhausting ourselves in the process.
But the truth is, true and lasting recovery is not found in our own strength – it is found in the strength that comes from Christ. As this 100% true verse reminds us, we can do all things, including overcome our addictions, because it is Christ who strengthens us.
In our weakness, His power is made perfect. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me”. When we feel like we have nothing left to give, God’s grace abounds. When our human efforts fall short, His divine intervention sustains us, Brothers & sisters, if you are struggling today, do not try to carry this burden alone. Surrender it to the One who has already won the victory. Rest in the knowledge that Christ is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”
Take a deep breath and repeat this truth: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Allow His power to flow through you, empowering you for the journey of recovery. With Him, you are more than conquerors Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us,”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I confess that I often try to rely on my own strength instead of Yours. Forgive me, and remind me that it is Your power that sustains me, not my own. I surrender my addiction to You and ask that You would fill me with Your strength today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
May God bless you today with the knowledge that through Jesus the Messiah, we are MORE than conquerors! Hoping to see you next post! In the meantime, have a power filled rest of your day!
