Mentoring Others into the Healing Power of Jesus

Disciples don’t just receive healing—they guide others to the Healer.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”

Isaiah 61:1

Jesus came not just to forgive sin but to heal—spirit, soul, and body. And when He healed, He made people whole in a way that lasted for a lifetime. Not a temporary fix, not a religious bandage, but a complete renewal. As followers of Christ, we are not only recipients of that power—we’re also called to walk alongside others into the fullness of that healing.

Mentoring someone into Jesus’ power to heal is not about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about pointing to the One who is perfect. It means modeling a life of repentance, obedience, prayer, and vulnerability. It also means reminding the person you mentor that Jesus is not a temporary refuge—He is the forever Healer.

Jesus taught and then sent His disciples out to do the same (Luke 9:1-2). Your healing becomes someone else’s hope when you’re willing to testify, to walk beside, and to wait with them for their breakthrough.

“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”

Luke 9:1-2

You aren’t saving anyone—but you are helping them believe that Jesus can. That’s mentorship in its truest, most powerful form.

Luke 9:1-2
“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”

2 Timothy 2:2
“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

James 5:16
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Revelation 12:11
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”

Today, ask God to show you one person you can encourage, disciple, or mentor in healing—whether it’s through prayer, asking your pastor or announcing it in your Bible study, listening, sharing your testimony, or walking together through Scripture.

Questions for Introspection & Journaling

  1. Have I have fully embraced Jesus as the forever Healer in my life, why am I still waiting for proof before I lead others?
  2. Who around me is broken, hurting, or discouraged—and could benefit from truth and love spoken in grace?
  3. What am I willing to be honest about in my own healing journey in order to help someone else?
  4. What does it look like to walk with someone—week by week—into Jesus’ power to restore?

Mentorship Action Steps

  1. Pray – Cover the person in prayer daily before trying to “fix” anything.
  2. Testify – Share your story openly, emphasizing what Jesus has done.
  3. Study Together – Choose a few healing-focused Scriptures and read them together weekly.
  4. Challenge Gently – Encourage them to seek God directly, make godly choices, and walk in obedience.
  5. Celebrate Victories – Even small steps of faith are huge in God’s eyes. Rejoice tog

Prayer

Jesus,
You are the Healer of every wound and the Redeemer of every story. Teach me how to walk with others toward Your healing power—not as an expert, but as a witness. Show me who You want me to mentor. Give me patience, grace, and boldness to speak Your truth in love. May my life be a living testimony that You still heal—and that when You do, it lasts forever.
In Your mighty name I pray, Amen.
